What country are you from?
American, from Ohio.
What is your profession?
I currently work as a webpage administrator for a nonprofit organization that helps those in need.
What are your favorite RP genres?
Right now, anything but reality or Horror, but always and especially historical.
What is your favorite book, movie, TV series and type of music?
Books- way too many! But I enjoy pretty much anything there as well. I'm currently reading Freida Lightfoot's The Amber Keeper, about the Bolshevik Revolution.
- Movies- not as much into those (too much time reading and writing, LOL), but definitely my two most favorites are "The Odyssey" (Armand Assante) and The Sound of Music. I've also been known to watch Hallmark movies and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries- some of the mystery ones are quite good especially.
-TV Series- Monk, Psych, Gilmore Girls, older ones like The Andy Griffith Show, and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman (Joe Lando was my first TV crush, and I still think he's awesome!)Not really sure if there's anything on I like to watch now, other than Dr. Who (thanks to my brother). I liked Last Man Standing, but it was short- lived. The fairly new one "The Resident" looks interesting, though (about a young med student)
-Music- a couple (Celine Dion and Josh Groban) might be obvious from my characters. Otherwise... many. A cousin of mine introduced me at a fairly young age (10?) to oldies music (1950's and up) and a favorite teacher introduced me to the Beatles. The combination of these two has led me to having, in general, a more varied music taste than a lot of people in my age group. I particularly like 60s and 70s music (The Beatles, Joan Baez, Linda Ronstadt, the BeeGees, Air Supply, Chicago, James Taylor, Seals & Crofts,) as well as some Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean, Martin, etc., but also, other eras and more modern ones, like Michael Buble, Enya, Lee Ann Womack, and Reba McEntire
Are you a sports' fan too? Practicing or watching?
I sometimes watch college football just for the cool things the band does at half-time, such as playing superhero themes while making Spiderman climb a building. The sheer coordination of all that WHILE MARCHING makes my brain hurt to think about (even though I was in band in 5th grade), but it's fun to watch.
What other interests and hobbies do you have?
I write my own stories, but since I have had eye surgeries recently ( second one Wednesday for retinal tears) a lot of that has been put on hold. If you find me on Facebook other than for work, it's usually on a Celine Dion or cat group. I also can speak both Mexican Spanish and French (though not the Canadian French), so I'm always trying to keep up with those, too.
ETA: Oh yes... from a very young age, another hobby has been names and name meanings... but one might expect it from a writer. I did get some nasty comments (yes, from adults) when baby name boards started, but writers use them too!
Do you have pets?
Not currently, though I had rabbits from age 6-21 and also love cats, but my dad is allergic.
How long have you been RPing?
Goodness... I think I was 14... so that'll be 18 years in December.
What kinds of characters and stories do you like to write?
I'm not very good at writing villains, (and yes. I've tried) but otherwise, anything is fair game. Romance or mystery plots are my current favorites.
What does your screen name mean?
It was my French name first, then my byline for the college newspaper (after a friend asked if I wrote for the New York Times on finance, which got awkward as I have a learning disability in math. To be fair, that person DID have my first and last name, though), which evolved into me using it for the rest of my writing. Before that, I had significant trouble writing my own name in cursive at school, which worried me because if you can't write your name (signature) how will you sign a check or important document? I thought it was entirely fair that if someone couldn't write their name after a year of practice (I started cursive in 3rd grade and still couldn't write it in 4th grade), they should find a new one. (And maybe it is, because sometime in the last two years I have read a Dear Abby post where the person asked if it was OK to change their name because they were hard of hearing and couldn't hear people say their actual name. People in her family knew she wanted to be called by one name which happened to be her middle name, but to be rude called her the other one that she couldn't hear. ) I did finally learn to write my name by the end of 4th grade (I think) , so I never HAD to change legally. but technically I've been Joelle ever since, at least in my head.

I am having eye surgery on the 4th and 18th of April for retinal tears in both eyes and don't know yet how I will be restricted. Excuse me if I am slower or at worst case scenario can only do my job for the next month or so, which would mean not posting here. I hope to be back full swing in May, as I've been told two surgeries are all I will need.
